Our Team

I’M JANE, OUR DIRECTOR

I set up Wild Oyster 6 years ago, which was initially focussed more on coaching and supporting women to reach their potential, but I quickly understood the complexities behind achieving sustained progress...and that started with having a safe and motivating home environment.

Wild Oyster has now become BASE Women’s Housing, but we still have the same drive to help all women believe that all opportunities are available to them and within reach, that the world is their Oyster!

I’m curious and driven. I’m a trained counsellor, social impact consultant, social entrepreneur, regular volunteer, plant-a-holic and interior-designer-wannabe.

My role is to keep all the cogs turning!

I’M MARISSA, OUR HOUSING & SUPPORT LEAD

I have held this position for 2 years and my role encompasses housing vulnerable, homeless women and supporting their transition to independence. This involves holistically addressing complex issues, ranging from mental ill health to personal hygiene which is tailored to individual needs.

I have 10+ years’ experience working in a support role, ensuring I provide a safe, friendly and approachable environment to encourage positive engagement and outcomes for my ladies.

My personal ethos is “to create change in the world, we need to acknowledge and allow autonomy, growth and compassion. Our life experiences don’t dictate our outcome.”

I’M NATACHA, OUR PROJECT LEAD

My role is to plan, organise and facilitate in-house and community based activities that aim to build self-confidence and develop life skills, whilst also supporting personal developmental.  During the current COVID regulations, this role has also provided a safe environment for socialisation, enabling our residents to enjoy activities and reduce anxieties.

Both my role and our ladies themselves, inspire and enable me to promote the self-empowerment of all women!
